WellSpring

WellSpring

Since March of 2001, Wellspring Living has operated as a grass roots organization by building relationships and credibility through effective large events, intimate retreats and sacrificial service.
10 years ago, a group of Christian women on Atlantaís south side gathered with passion for God and to connect with women who might never darken the door of a church. After having been a part of organizing two major Christian events in Atlanta, this group hungered to make a tangible difference in the lives of the hopeless and broken.
In November 2001, the Wellspring for Women Home opened its doors to our first participant. This home was designed to be a refuge for women who needed a chance to start over. Though many of the women we served had many issues ranging from drug addiction to prostitution, we learned that almost every woman who came through our door dealt with the deep wound of childhood sexual abuse. We began tailoring our curriculum to meet the specific needs of these women. Over the years, we have seen Godís ability to exchange the lives of women who were thrown away by the world and even the church into new creations full of wholeness, beauty and devotion to Jesus Christ.
In 2004, The Wellspring Living Store in Peachtree City, GA was opened as an upscale resale boutique. Itís purpose was to support the mission of the organization financially. The store operated totally on volunteer power, so all the proceeds from the sale of donated items went to benefit the Wellspring Home. In 2006, a second Wellspring Living Store was opened in Duluth, Georgia.
In 2007, Wellspring Living became aware of Atlantaís problem with the forced prostitution of children. With our background in working with victims of childhood sexual abuse, we believe the Lord was calling us to not only work with women but also with girls. In partnership with a fully-licensed childrenís home, Wellspring began Wellspring for Girls, a program designed for girls who had been devastated by forced prostitution. In October of 2008, we received our first program participant.
